Dr. Robert Malkin, PhD

Biography

PhD in Electrical Engineering from Duke University. Professor of the Practice of Biomedical Engineering and Global Health, Emeritus at Duke.

As Founder and Executive Director of IRI-NC, Dr. Malkin built a remote research institute so high school and early-college students worldwide can work with US faculty mentors on publication-focused STEM research—continuing meaningful research opportunities beyond the constraints many students faced during COVID-19.

He writes for the IRI-NC blog on high school research, mentorship, and related topics, and meets families for discovery calls about program fit.
